The
Hardware Store That Sells Art, Framing, Antiques, and More!
A huge selection of custom frames distinguishes this Houston Heights framing shop.
Dont let the name deceive you. Davis is no ordinary hardware
store. In fact, the family-owned-and-operated business no longer
sells hardware, having converted some years ago to a full-time art
and frame shop. Today, the charming Houston landmark is a full-service
gallery, offering fine art prints and original oil paintings, in
addition to mirrors, antiques, unique gift items, and ready-made
and custom framing.
From
hardware to fine art ware.
 Robert Davis
Robert Davis, the stores patriarch, started the business in 1956 as a conventional hardware store. He and wife, Sherry, were both born and raised in Houstons Heights area, attending Reagan High School. On the advice of his talented mother-in-law, an artist in her own right, Robert decided to invest in art supplies and framing.
A dedicated Kerry Davis Mader works at the store during the week, and with husband Tony, heads up Davis Antiques on the weekends.
Over the years, Davis expanded his business to include an astonishing inventory of oil paintings and art prints. The store is an authorized dealer for many renowned artists, including Pati Bannister, Charles Frace', Nancy Glazier, G. Harvey, and Dalhart Windberg, among others. With more than 2,000 varieties of moldings from which to choose, its easy to findthe perfect custom frame for your treasured artwork or photograph.
